Meet the Carman Beavers

Each home game, three players will be profiled in the program.

 

Bestland, Everett, (99), F

 Everett’s hometown is Brunkild, MB. He played for the Pembina Valley Hawks U15AAA, Pembina Valley Hawks U18AAA (MMHL) for 2 seasons, the Winkler Flyers (MJHL) for three seasons, and then Iowa State University (ACHA) for 3 seasons. This is Everett’s first regular season with the Carman Beavers.  

 

Sekundiak, Marcus, (00), F

   Marcus played minor hockey with MacDonald Minor Hockey, then played with the Central Plains Capitols U15AAA, the Oak Park High (CAHS), and the RINK Hockey Academy Prep (CSSHLU18). Marcus played 4 seasons with the Brandon Wheat Kings (WHL), wearing the “A” in his final season. This is Marcus’ first season with the Carman Beavers.

 

Ilchena, Kale, (97), F

Kale played 4 seasons with the Selkirk Fishermen (KJHL) (2 as AP, 2 as regular), 2 seasons with the Raiders Jr Hockey club (MMJHL), and has played with the Carman Beavers for the last 2 seasons.

 

 

Sartor, Mikol, (01), F

Mikol played with the Winnipeg Hawks U15AAA, the Winnipeg Monarch (U17), and the Winnipeg Wild (MMHL). He then played 3 seasons with the Winnipeg Blue (MJHL), and played in the NAHL with the Johnstown Tomahawks and the Minnesota Wilderness. Next he played with the Estavan Bruins (SJHL), and then 2 seasons with Trinity Western University (USports). This is Mikol’s first season with the Carman Beavers.

 

Lotscher, Jack, (96), F

  Jack has played with the Carman Beavers since the 2014-15 season, making this his 9th season as a Carman Beaver. Prior to playing with the Beavers, Jack played Carman Minor Hockey and Carman Cougar High School hockey. Jack has earned a degree in Sport Psychology. Jack is the oldest son of Bev and Lee Lotscher of Carman.

 

Lotscher, Olliver, (02), F

Ollie is the youngest son of Bev and Lee Lotscher and grew up playing Carman Minor Hockey, and Carman Cougar High School Hockey. Ollie played with the Pembina Valley Twisters (MMJHL), MacDonald Swarm (HTJHL), and has played 4 seasons with the Carman Beavers. Ollie is attending the University of Manitoba with goals of becoming a conservation officer.

 

Froese, Quade, (99),  F

Quade, son of Ken & Gloria Froese of Elm Creek,

grew up playing Elm Creek and Carman Minor Hockey, and played with the Carman Cougars High School team. Quade played Pembina Valley Twisters (MMJHL), and also played in the SJHL with the Weyburn Red Wings and the Thief River Falls Norskies. He  has played with the Carman Beavers for the last 4 seasons.  Quade farms in the Elm Creek area

 

Schioler, Liam, (98), D

Liam has played with the Winnipeg Hawks AAA, Shattuck St. Mary’s 14U and 16U AAA, Lincoln Stars (USHL), Regina Pats (WHL) where he wore the “A” in the 2018-19 season, and the University of Manitoba (USports) from 2019-20 to 2022-23. This is Liam’s first season with the Carman Beavers.  

 

Nychuk, Daniel, (98), F

Dan is from Domain, and played minor hockey with Morris-MacDonald. Dan played with the PV Hawks U18AAA (MMHL), the River East Royal Knights (MMJHL), the St. Adolphe Hawks (HTJHL), the Red River Mud Bugs (HTJHL), and has played with the Carman Beavers since the 2022-23 Season..

 

Nychuk, AJ, (97)  F

AJ is from Domain, and played minor hockey with Morris-MacDonald AJ played with the Pembina Valley Twisters, St. Boniface Riels,  River East Royal Knights, and the Stonewall Jets (MMJHL) between 2014-15 to 2018-19. He played with the Red River Wild in 2019-20, and has played with the Carman Beavers for the last 4 seasons.

 

Wenham, Dan, (92) G

Dan has been rostered with the Estevan Bruins U18AAA (SCMHL), Estevan Bruins (SJHL)   Coaldale Copperheads (HJHL), University of Lethbridge (CIS) and Fort Macleod Mustangs (RHL). This is Daniel’s second season with the Carman Beavers. Dan is employed as a Sales Manager with Gordon Food Services.

 

Van de Velde, Rocky, (97), G.

Rocky grew up between Carman and Elm Creek and attended Elm Creek School.  Rocky has been rostered with the Carman Beavers since the 2014-15 season, first as an AP and then as a regular goalie. Rocky also played 4 games with the River East Royal Knights, MMJHL, during the 2016-17 season. Rocky earned his degree from the University of Manitoba and is employed at Homewood Coop.

Zacharias, Luke, (98), G

Luke was born in Carman, youngest son of Lorne & Coleen Zacharias. Luke played Minor Hockey out of Carman, and then moved to Minnedosa where he played U18AAA with the Yellowhead Chiefs and the Brandon Wheat Kings. He played MMJHL with the Fort Garry/Fort Rouge Twins and the Pembina Valley Twisters, and then 1 year of SEMHL with the Altona Maroons and the last three years with the Carman Beavers. 

Day, Tristan (00), D

Tristan is from LaSalle, MB, attended Sanford Collegiate, and played with the PVHawks U15AAA & U18AAA, Waywayseecappo Wolverines (MJHL), Kirkland Lake Gold Miners (NOHL), 4 seasons with the Pembina Valley Twisters (MMJHL), and this is Tristan’s 3rd season with the Carman Beavers. Tristan is employed as an Accountant.

 

Halstead, Dane, (98), D

Dane is from Myrtle, and played Minor Hockey out of Roland/Miami and Carman, and was the Captain of the Pilot Mound Buffalo. Dane played 2 seasons with the WSHL Bellingham Blazers, and the last three seasons with the Carman Beavers. Dane is the youngest son of  Ron and Heather Halstead. Dane is employed at The Rink as a development coach.

Shwaluk, Brock, (98), D

Brock is from LaSalle, MB, attended Sanford Collegiate, and played with the PVHawks U18AAA, the Winnipeg Blues MJHL team, one year with the Kindersley Klippers, SJHL, 1 year with the Virden Oil Capitals, 1 year with the U of Victoria, and the last 3 years with the Carman Beavers. Brock is in investment banking with Scotiabank.

 

Wood, Derek (97), D

Derek, eldest son of Lee and Wendi Wood, grew up in Graysville, MB and played Carman Minor Hockey, Carman Cougars high school hockey, PV AAA U15 Hawks, PV AAA U18 Hawks, MJHL Waywayseecappo Wolverines , and MMJHL PV Twisters. Derek is an assistant coach with the Carman Cougars, works for D & D Bruce Farms and resides in Carman, MB. This is Derek’s 7th season with the Beavers.

Park, Tyler (02), D  

Tyler, eldest son of Jeff & Karen Park, grew up in Carman, MB and played Carman Minor Hockey, Carman High School Cougars,  PV AAA U15 Hawks,. PV AAA U18 Hawks and MJHL with the Swan Valley Stampeders before joining the Carman Beavers. Tyler is an Alternate Captain. This is Tyler’s 2nd season with the Beavers.  

Livingston, Tyler (99), D

Tyler, son of Trish and Steve Livingston, grew up near Miami, MB and played minor hockey in Miami and Carman, high school hockey with the Carman Cougars, PV AAA U18 Hawks and MMJHL with the PV Twisters & St. Boniface Riels.  Tyler works for MK Agro and lives in Carman, MB. This is Tyler’s 6th season with the Beavers.

Klassen, Eric (00),  F

Eric is the son of Rex and Myrna Klassen. Eric grew up in Carman and played with the Carman Cougars (CAHS), then the Pembina Valley Twisters (MMJHL). This is Eric’s 6th season rostering with the Carman Beavers. Eric is employed by Vintage Landscapes in Carman, MB, and is attending Assiniboine Community College, completing a Landscaping Certificate.

 

Dalke, Ben “C” (98), F

Ben is from LaSalle, MB and played with McDonald Minor Hockey, then the Pembina Valley U15AAA, U18AAA, the MJHL Virden Oil Capitals, and then the University of Manitoba Bisons. This is Ben’s 3rd season with the Carman Beavers. Ben is an assistant Golf Pro at Niakwa Country Club.

Skorpad, Noah, (98),  F

Noah played with Raiders Jr. Hockey Club, MMJHL in 2016-17 and was traded to the Transcona Railers were he remained for the remainder of that season and the next three seasons in the MMJHL. Noah has played with the Carman Beavers for the last two seasons and resides in Carman. Noah attended the UM and is employed as an engineer.

Goertzen, Riley, (02), F

Riley is from Homewood, MB and played minor hockey in Carman. Riley played PV U15 AAA, PV U18 AAA, and three years with the MMJHL PV Twisters. This is Riley’s first year with the Beavers.  Riley is attending the University of Manitoba in the Faculty of Agriculture. Riley is the middle son of Randy Goertzen and Lisa Goertzen

Atkins, Scott, (02), F

Scott is from Carman, MB and played minor hockey in Carman. Scott played 3 years for the Carman Cougar high school. This is Scott’s third season with the Carman Beavers. Scott is attending the University of Manitoba in the Faculty of Agriculture. Scott is the son of Doug Atkins and late Marcy Mutcher.

Mirrlees, Fraser  “A”, (96), F

Fraser is from Oak Bluff, MB and played minor hockey in McDonald. Fraser played High School hockey with Sanford Collegiate, four years of MMJHL with the PV Twisters, where he was Assistant Captain in the last two years, and this is his 6th season with the Carman Beavers. Fraser is attending the University of Manitoba in the faculty of Education.
